Krista experienced the unthinkable when her husband passed away during his military service. Looking to give back to the individuals and organizations who supported her, Krista co-founded The Unquiet Professional to fundraise for organizations such as The Green Beret Foundation and USO. Another need that Krista focuses on through the unquiet professional is the need for awareness, support, and empowering of Gold Star Families.

This week, Lindsey Litton sits down with 2018 AFI Pentagon Military Spouse of the Year and Co-Founder of Operation Deploy Your Dress, Yvonne Coombes. Through her years as a milspouse, Yvonne recognized two needs among her community: a resource for milspouses who don’t have the means to get formal dresses for military events, and milspouses who no longer have use for their formal dresses. Yvonne and four fellow milspouses decided to organize a dress swap, Operation Deploy Your Dress.

Military spouses have unique challenges when looking for careers that work with their lifestyle. Informational interviews are a great way for milspouses to set themselves apart, learn more about potential employers, and gain job search experience.
